Where to ride from Cancale
Pointe du Grouin — 12 km round trip, moderate
From the port de la Houle, six kilometres, with some climbing, to the nature reserve. A 360-degree view over the bay of Mont Saint-Michel, the Île des Landes and its seabird colonies. The road is fine on a city bike; the tracks around the headland call for a mountain bike.
Cancale to Saint-Malo — 18 km, moderate
The Vélomaritime in reverse: Saint-Coulomb, Rothéneuf, then the cycle lanes along the Sillon to the ramparts. The whole route is on roads shared with cars, with departmental roads to cross carefully in summer; little climbing (44 m in total). Cancale to Mont Saint-Michel — about 50 km, challenging
Along the bay via Le Vivier-sur-Mer and the Duchesse Anne dyke. Almost entirely flat, but exposed: the wind decides how hard it is. An electric bike is strongly recommended for the round trip in a day. See our Saint-Malo to Mont Saint-Michel guide.
The oyster beds loop — 8 km, easy
The quiet end-of-day ride: the low road along the oyster beds on a falling tide, as the oyster tractors come back in. Flat, short, ideal with children.

The whole route is on roads shared with cars, with cycle lanes on the Saint-Malo side and departmental roads to cross carefully, especially in summer. There is little climbing: 44 metres in total.
Can you cycle to Mont Saint-Michel from Cancale?+
Yes, following the bay. Allow about 50 kilometres from Cancale, almost entirely flat but exposed to the wind. An electric bike is strongly recommended for the round trip in a day: our 625 Wh batteries cover 80 to 120 km in Eco mode.
Which bike for the Pointe du Grouin?+
The road up to the Pointe du Grouin is fine on a city bike: 6 kilometres from the port de la Houle, with some climbing. If you want to ride the tracks around the headland, take a mountain bike.

In July and August, yes. Electric bikes and kids bikes go first. Book a few days before you arrive if you can. There is no online payment: you send a request and we confirm availability within 24 hours.
